About Huntro: People
After growing up in Toronto and majoring in Art History at the University of Western Ontario, Brooke Hunter joined an international broker of commercial property/casualty insurance in Western Canada. In 1993, she worked in their Hong Kong and Sydney offices, specializing in construction and infrastructure. Later, she served larger Canadian Companies with worldwide operations.
Returning to Toronto in 1997, Brooke took a sales & marketing leadership role as a managing partner in the largest independent international insurance broker. She chaired the Executive Committee from 2001 to 2004 managing the firm's significant growth.
In great demand for public speaking engagements, Brooke has spoken for the likes of the Annual Conference of the Canadian Institute of Corporate Directors, Report on Business Television, the Property Casualty Underwriters Society, Women Entrepreneurs of Canada and the Ontario Bar Association.
Brooke was an insurance and risk management contributor to the book Joint Ventures, Legal and Business Perspectives by Reiter/Shishler and The E-Policy Handbook by Nancy Flynn. Active on multiple community boards, Brooke has served on the boards of the Canadian Association of Family Enterprise, Toronto Insurance Conference, St. Clement's School and two private clubs. Brooke is a supporter of the charity Trails Youth Initiatives - and with her husband set up the "Brooke and Mark Bridging the Gap Fund" as a start to their recent marriage.
